EVENTS FOR 2ND FRIDAY CIRCUIT OF ART DECEMBER 9, 2011:
PARTICIPATING NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS:
Firehouse Art Center (444 S Flood) opens their Holiday Gift Gallery featuring handmade original works of art, perfect for seasonal gifts. Enjoy apple cider and holiday music as you peruse the unique gift items.
Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art (555 Elm Ave) Live Music; Natalie and Paul Buckthal Gallery, Trio Soleil – Cello, Violin & Piano, Short Films; Orientation Room, presented by deadCENTER Film Festival, The Man in the Red Suit (10 min., USA), Swing (4 min., Taiwan), Time and Love (7 min., USA), In That Moment (5 min., USA)
Performing Arts Studio (200 S Jones Avenue) opens a Small Works show with Oklahoma Artists Mike Wimmer, Gay Fulkenbury, Linda Tuma Robertson, Jim Cobb, Don Holiday, and Rick Fry.
Dreamer Concepts (324 E Main St.) will host the opening reception for Dreamer 40: The Fine Art of Photography and Printmaking by the Novel Artists of the University of Oklahoma during our 5th birthday celebration, featuring works from students studying lithography, etching and screen printing.
Jacobson House (609 Chautauqua Ave.) Meet the Artists Holiday Art Market with Indian Taco Sale and art sale will continue Sat 10-5 and Sun 1-5pm.
Cimarron Opera (@ Michelangelo’s Coffee & Wine Bar, 207 E Main St) Singers from Cimarron Opera Company will perform a variety of holiday music to begin around 6:30 p.m. Some of the singers include Marcy Gonzales, Kristin Fitzgerald, Lydia Gray and Wesley Jones.  Song selections featured will be arrangements from musicals and operettas, as well as other well-known holiday songs.  
MAINSITE Contemporary Art: Home of the Norman Arts Council (122 E Main St) invites guests to the opening of The 2011 Emerging Artists Show with Olen Cook, Joshua Blevins Peck, Trisha Thompson Adams, Jesse Whittle, & May Yang with the NAC Featured Artist Tünde Darvay in The Library & The Downtown Photo Month Contest winners’ exhibit.

Dustbowl Arts Market (@ FIVE: 412 E Main St) presents the Dustbowl Holiday, A Two Day Holiday Arts Market also on Saturday, December 10 from 11am-6pm. Free food, drinks, & gift wrap, A Photo Booth with Santa Claus & Live Music.
STASH (412 E Main St) presents the work of artist Josh Heilaman who brings life to other worldly creatures.
Sonder Music, Dance & Art (225 E Gray St) opens Snowmen are People Too: Norman’s Whimsical Transient Winter Population, a photography exhibit by Miranda Arana, Musical guests Arabesque and Will J.A.M. will perform.
Downtown Art & Frame (115 S Santa Fe Ave) opens its doors for visitors to view the work of participating artists and meet the wonderful staff.
Gallery123 (123 E. Main St, above Forward Foods) welcomes visitors to view new work by participating artists. 
Form+Function Lab (123 E Main St, above Forward Foods) presents the Cardboard Show 2.512 with more artists, more cardboard, and more drinks and snacks! Musical guests will also perform.
Shevaun Williams & Associates (221 E Main St) will be exhibiting the work of an eclectic mix of artists - Mike Simmons, Christopher Leblo, Shevaun Williams, & TFOTS Art Studio, the dream of Patti Gulikers, will show an array of unique artists.
MerryBelle’s Gifts, Art & Tea (230 E. Main St.) Artists Amanda Morales and Erin Elise will have new works on display! A small photo booth area will be set up to commission portrait drawings by Erin Elise. Food, drinks, and music by DJ Timmy B.
Maggy’s Thread Designs & Bill Williams’ Studio (122 E Main St) opens its doors for visitors to see the work of two Norman artists, Jean Peace and Bobby Adkins. 10% of sales is donated to the Norman Women’s Resource Center. 
Sandalwood & Sage (322 E Main St) will host Psychedelic metal & paint artist Wes Holderby. Musical guests Leah Kenton-McGaha & John McGaha will join us 6:30pm-10pm, performing celtic & holiday music. Tori Rose will be giving 5-minute chair massages to help release that holiday tension!
LWPB Architects (128 E Main St) will be featuring the work of Yuming Zhu, Ning Liu, Nazli Tolole, and Jim Shelley.
Fusion Fitness & Yoga (323 E Main St) features local photographer Trista Boehemisch’s collection “Strength is Beauty.”  Join us for refreshments and a chance to visit with the artist as well as Fusion instructors.
Mitchell’s Jewelry (218 E Main St) will be open for Christmas Hours and invites all art walkers to visit until 8pm.
Pink Elephant Café (301 E Main St) welcomes all to see the work of artist Emily Rigs.
Bigfoot Creative (315 E Main St) will host a show and sale of work by American Indian artist Tom Farris, featuring his  signature style of pop art influenced American Indian art.
Tribes 131 (131 24th Ave) invites all to a Holiday Show & Signing Preview for the 2012 Annual Native American Art Calendar.
First Fidelity Bank (131 E Main St) Reception for the winning photographs of the 7th Annual Tree Photo Contest.
NICE plus Demons of Gyrophonia (@ Catlett Choir Room, 500 W Boyd St) Century Ensemble’s screening of the holiday classic Die Hard as a silent film with an improvised score. The performance will be at 8:00pm. Admission is free.
